Why did you choose your profession?
I am fascinated by machines, and how mechanisms and systems work together. I have always had a curious fiber for inventions and creativity.
Who is the one person who has done the most, to shape you into who you are today? How was the person significant to you?
My Dad amongst other masters I have had in my life, have influenced in my career. He has taught me many things that have developed my curiosity and pushed my imagination to create new things, to learn how stuff works, to hold a vision until completed, regardless of the minor issues that may present along the way.
What has been the greatest accomplishment of your life so far? Is there anything you wish to do even better?
Professionally my biggest accomplishment has been Hot Potato, the studio I founded and ran for a few years. Creating a product that did not exist and offering it to a company as big as PepsiCo was just a dream until it really happened. I came to the conclusion it was a great accomplishment because as a person, and as a professional I felt realized. It has been the hardest job I have ever had and the toughest challenges, but the most satisfying as I not only created amazing projects but also pushed forward in the careers of many of my employees.
How would your peers and team members describe your responsiveness as a leader?
I am an involved person; my curiosity does not allow me to say out of the development of any of the projects I have ever carried. I like what I do as an engineer and combined with leading teams has been a perfect combination for me. Becoming a leader sometimes distances us from the day-to-day of each project, but I have always looked for a way to be close to the execution as this is direct feedback and allows me to learn and on several occasions teach and correct; this gives me a calm state of mind as being involved is the best way to measure progress.
